Jose Mourinho told how to improve Paul Pogba at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho must tell Paul Pogba to play more simply to alleviate the Frenchman’s struggles at Manchester United, according to the former Netherlands manager Danny Blind.

Pogba was not included in either of Mourinho’s last two starting XIs at Old Trafford after a pair of poor performances in United’s draws against Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.

The Reds have looked a more dangerous outfit with Pogba sat on the bench, and Blind believes the United boss should strip back Pogba’s play for him to reach his potential.

“One thing Jose has to do with Pogba is instruct him to play simple,” Blind, the father of former United midfielder Daley, told the Mirror.

“He is the kind of player who wants to come up with complicated solutions or difficult options.

“And, in midfield, he wants to have 100,000 touches of the ball.
“He wants to shake off opponents by showing them his strength, a double shoulder push or whatever before he turns with the ball.

“But, in the Premier League, all of his opponents are equally strong, physically. He just can’t do it. So make him pass the ball direct and simply.”

Blind’s grievances with the United manager did not stop there, however, with the 57-year-old blasting both Mourinho’s recruitment strategy and tactical approach at Old Trafford.

“Jose can’t even get the right formation any more,” he added.
