I don’t sing in my church – Kwesi Arthur

Rising Ghanaian musician, Kwesi Arthur, has revealed the reason for which he no longer sings in church. Kwesi, a member of the Church of Pentecost revealed that, after a Sunday School service, he was severely reprimanded for singing a popular VIP song. According to him, he sang the popular song, ‘Ahomka Wom’, and this did not go down well with the church’s leaders.

He added that he was scolded by members of the church, after which his mother also caned him. He further added that he had no idea what came over him, but he simply grabbed the microphone 
and began to sing the song. Kwesi Arthur was nominated for the Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act category at the 2018 BET Awards. He lost to Sjava of South Africa, but according to him he was humbled by the immense support shown him by Ghanaians music fans and the media.
