The Meaning Of ‘Gringo’ Finally REVEALED By Shatta Wale


The Gringo fever has hit Ghanaians so hard that we wonder if there’s going to be a cure anytime soon.
In a related development, the song has hit over 1-million views within these few days that it was released, surpassing Stonebwoy’s Tomorrowwhich was released much earlier relatively.
Gringo has sparked memes and replicas on social media, underlining the fact that Ghanaians are truly obsessed with the song and everything that it represents.
But what is the meaning of Gringo? According to Shatta Wale, Gringo is a Mexican word which means ‘foreigner’.
He adds that he used to be called Bandana and now that he has re-branded to Shatta Wale, he sees himself as a foreigner who is about to use his mystery to conquer his domain.
He said:
It’s a Mexican term meaning foreigner. People saw Shatta Wale as a foreigner. This is a stranger who came to conquer the music industry.
