Sarkodie Causes A Serious Confusion Between Music Producer Hammer & Kaywa 

Ghana’s most decorated rapper of all time, Sarkodie speaking at the launch of the fifth All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra posited that recording a hit song is the easiest thing in music but it’s doesn’t make an artiste relevant for years.

But Kaywa who doubles as music producer and CEO of Highly Spiritual Music has nullified Sarkodie’s assertion that recording a hit track is the easiest thing to do among musicians. According to the renowned music producer, being a top artiste like Sarkodie doesn’t guarantee a hit song for getting a hit song entails a lot.

“What goes into a hit song isn’t just being a popular artiste, it goes beyond that especially when you’re considering great records of our time, from the past to now, it hasn’t been dependent on the popularity of the artiste only but great production from the studio and even great videos can give you a hit song. For me it’s not just being a top artiste that can give you a hit song.” Kaywa asserted this in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.

Contrary to the opinion above, CEO of The Last Two, Hammer has in a way supported Sarkodie. Speaking on Hitz FM,  Hammer said that the popularity of the song makes it a hit. He said a hit song is relative. But then, he revealed  that, Kaywa is just confusing classic with a hit song.

“Classic is the song that survives the test of time and not a hit song. The popularity of a song rather makes it a hit. Once the majority of the people love it, it becomes a hit song. Aside, what makes up a hit song is basically simplicity. Simplicity helps a song go all out,” Hammer said.
