Kwesi Nyantakyi Could Be Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison If Found Guilty
Since yesterday, the most trending news in Ghana is the report that the president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo has ordered the arrest of the president of Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi for defrauding by false pretense.
According to the report, the president after watching the yet to be released latest corruption exposé by the ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas ordered for the arrest of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
From the video, Kwesi Nyantakyi was heard telling potential investors that he has the president and the vice president of Ghana in his pocket and all they need to do is to bribe them with $5 million and $3 million each.
Addressing the media, the deputy chief of staff of the president, Mr. Asenso Boakye said:
“The President of the Republic has had the benefit of viewing aspects of the investigative piece and in this documentary.”
“The President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi is supposedly seen attempting to use the President’s name and that of the Vice President and other senior officials of government to induce supposed potential investors into our country to part with various sums of monies.”
Well, from what GhmorningNews has gathered, the offense of defrauding by false pretense is a 2nd-degree felony, the Ghana Football Association president could go to prison for 25 years if found guilty.
GhmorningNews has reliably been informed that Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has returned to the country as at today Wednesday 23rd May 2018 to be interrogated by the CID.
